a good way to spend lunch

It has been almost a year since I saw most of my old mates from work. There were nine of us at the pub for a beer lunch. It was great to catch up with everyone. The group is holding up well. It was welcome relief at this hectic time of the year. A few are still holding down full time jobs, some are fully retired and some are on the threshold. Spirits were high. It was nice.

Not having done this blogging thing before except for my initial entry these remarks here constitute what I hope is an add-on to my original blog. We'll see how this all turns out

my oak desk

Well, today was a good day. I had already planed and jointed several oak boards for the desk drawers I'm building. The main carcass for the desk has already been assembled. A few weeks back I completed a jig and today I used it to make the box joints for the drawers. All is going well. Tomorrow I'll begin planing more oak for the drawer bottoms
